From a psychodynamic perspective, hypnotherapy helps clients access unconscious material that shapes their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. By bringing suppressed memories and early relational experiences to awareness, it supports insight, emotional processing, and the development of healthier patterns. In this space, we also provide the necessary preparation for deeper processing by engaging existential insights and strategies.

Hypnotherapy has roots in early psychodynamic theory, where figures like Freud initially used hypnosis to access unconscious material before developing free association. Building on this foundation, Milton Erickson, a pioneering family therapist and hypnotist, advanced the field by emphasizing the unconscious as a resource for healing rather than pathology. Within family systems approaches, his work influenced the use of hypnosis to explore transgenerational patterns, implicit memories, and emotional communication within the family unit.
